The Iroquois Ridge North Community of Oakville is bounded on the south by Upper Middle Road, on the west by Trafalgar Road and the Uptown Business Core, on the north by Dundas Street, and on the east by Joshua's Creek. It contains the neighbourhoods traditionally known as Joshua Creek, Wedgewood Creek, and Sherwood Heights.
The Iroquois Ridge Community is divided into distinct districts; The North District is designed to function as an integrated unit with the Iroquois Ridge South District. It provides some community shopping and community park space as well as a secondary school site for both districts. Both districts function together to provide a complete range of community shopping and recreational facilities.
Both districts are intended to be residential in nature, predominantly single family homes, with some semi-detached homes and townhouses throughout the community.

Iroquois Ridge North contains the following institutional uses within its boundaries:
Three Public Elementary Schools
One Public Secondary School
One Separate Elementary School
Other institutional uses for the North District include churches, day care centres, and a community recreation centre.
The last Canada Census for which statistics are available was undertaken in 2001, and at that time the Iroquois Ridge North Community population was 8,966 persons. It is anticipated that the Iroquois Ridge North Community will ultimately have a population of 16,000 persons.
The Iroquois Ridge North Community has a high proportion of younger persons and a low proportion of people over 65 years of age.
The most recent census indicates that 35.4% of the population is between the ages of 0-19 as compared to the overall Oakville total of 28.5% within this age bracket. Only 5.1% of the population is over 65 years of age as compared to the overall Oakville total of 10.9%
